Family blog instructions
Rabinder is very excited about sharing his website with his family and creating a place where members of the family can post text and photos for the family to enjoy!
We hope that you will use this site to share memories and photos through Blog posts on Rabinder’s website.
To get you started on the Family Blog, here are some instructions:
Option 1. You can just leave a comment on a blog post, no log-in required. You will not be able to post pictures, but you can leave a written response.
Option 2. Log in to Squarespace.
You will receive an email invitation from Squarespace to become a contributor to Rabinder’s website. Squarespace is the service that provides website hosting for Rabinder’s homepage.
Please click the button in that email that says “Accept Invitation”. and set up your account password. It should be a simple process. Here is the Squarespace official page with instructions, if needed.
The website will take you to another page where you will “Accept” the invite.
If you don’t already have one, create a Squarespace account and then log in.
Once logged in, Rabinder’s website will open, with a menu of options on the left side. It will look like this:
Finding the blog page and posting a blog.
Click on “Pages”. This is what you will see when the next page opens:
Adding a blog post.
You see the screen above, please scroll down to find the link that says “Family Blog”, and click on it. This will open up the “Blog” page, where you can interact with your family and post stories, photos, video, and the like.
Note: Please do not open or modify any of other pages, just the “Family Blog”. Thanks!
Once you’ve clicked on that link, you will see the following type of page:
See the red arrow? That’s the “+” icon that you will click to add a new blog post.
Add a title for your post in the Enter a post title... field. Titles must be 200 characters or fewer. Here’s what that page will look like:
Your new post includes a Text Block to help you get started with just writing text. If you want to add photos or video or anything more, click an insert point. Click on the underlined words to learn more about “insert points” and how to add materials to your blog post!
After adding content to your post, you can open your post's settings and edit settings, including categories and tags, comments settings, and thumbnail images. Click on the underlined words to learn more about your settings options.
Remember! Your entry on the Family Blog can be as simple or fancy as you’d like. Play, have fun communicating with Rabinder and your family, and reach out with questions!
